Raising awareness on learning disabilities
I design and facilitate training sessions to raise awareness about learning disabilities and challenge common misconceptions. My approach emphasizes the unique strengths and compensatory abilities of individuals with learning disabilities, shifting the focus from limitations to potential. Drawing from my personal journey of being diagnosed with learning disabilities in grade 1, I share practical strategies and introduce assistive technologies that support individuals with learning disabilities while also benefiting those without them.
Mentoring is at the heart of my work. I am passionate about helping others uncover their unique strengths and empowering them to thrive in inclusive, supportive environments. By fostering understanding and accessibility, I aim to create spaces where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.
Facilitating skills in communication and project management
Thriving in the dynamic and ever-evolving landscape of academia requires more than technical expertise—it demands a holistic approach to professional growth. Success hinges on the ability to integrate advanced research skills with strategic project management, effective communication, and collaborative teamwork.
As the COO of iinceta, I lead a company dedicated to providing tailored training and consulting services that empower academics at every stage of their careers. Our programs address often-overlooked yet critical areas, equipping individuals and teams with the tools to streamline workflows, boost productivity, and amplify their impact in the academic world. By fostering these essential skills, we help scholars and researchers not only excel in their work but also thrive in their professional journeys.
Encouraging outdoor exploration and supporting research in challenging terrains
I have been an avid mountaineer for the past 17 years, with a personal goal of climbing some of the most technically challenging 6,000-meter peaks around the world. As a geologist, I bring the rocks to life, uncovering the stories they tell of Earth’s history, and as an ecologist, I reconstruct past environments. For me, every ascent is more than just a climb—it’s an exploration of a living story etched into the landscape. I hold several certifications that enable me to navigate treacherous terrain safely, allowing me to explore some of the most remote places on Earth. I’m passionate about teaching these skills to others and creating a safe, welcoming environment for people to develop their own connection to nature. I thrive on the challenge of planning and conducting fieldwork in a way that is inclusive and accessible to everyone.
